Hiking - Walking: Felixstowe Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny periods Max Speed: Distance Covered:
what a day !!! went to The Dip first thing to check out the conditions -
nice to met up with some mates but onshore 5/6 and high water was not for
me !! and the wind was going to build - had a look at The Manor but not
much better :( At this point I was going to go to Southend - sailable from
3 in the afternoon but torrential rain at the time I should be loading the
van changed my mind - a mistake really as the sun came out later and it
would have been good !! Then after dinner at home the rain stopped and the
rain ended so Mag and I decided to walk down to the beach a little way
along the prom and back home but it was so lovely on the prom with nobody
about we walked all the way to Landguard !!! :) It was hard going with a
head wind but lovely - the River Orwell was wild and we even saw a
mine-murmeration of starlings and as we started the walk back along
Landguard beach - me with my sandels off paddling the sky darked and we
thought we were going to get soaked. Lucky for us one dark clould passed
behind us the other in front so we only got a few spots of rain !!! The sky
was fantastic with menacing clouds and sand removing a layer skin from your
legs ! We managed to get a little coal but the coal has dried up - perhaps
we need some winter storms to stir things up !!! The wind then swung round
offshore. So a great 3 hours out in the wind :)
